You’ll need some healthy energy and enthusiasm to power you from Sacramento to Auburn. We have the perfect pre-race plan for you:

American River 50 Mile Endurance Run and Fleet Feet Sports Roseville/Fair Oaks are proud to host legendary runner and motivational speaker Dick Beardsley. Well known for his 1982 Boston Marathon second place finish, “Duel in the Sun” with Alberto Salazar, Dick is also a two-time Olympic Trials Marathon Qualifier. Dick holds the course record holder of the Grandma’s Marathon. Dick’s life of the road is quite an inspiration as he suffered a series of near-fatal accidents and since has turned his life around. Living in Austin, Texas currently, Dick has a sincere passion for the trails and trail running events. "The AR 50 is one of the best in the country, I love trail running, I love the Sacramento area, what a great combination! I'm so excited to be coming to this grand event in 2010!"

Enter the “Dick Beardsley Pacer Raffle” One lucky runner will have the chance to be paced from mile 40 to the finish by running legend, Dick Beardsley. Dick will entertain you with his many great stories and provide encouragement to help you reach your goal!

Raffle tickets are $5 each. The raffle will open December 1st, 2009 and end on March 17, 2010. Buy your tickets HERE.
